In memory of my beloved husband, John Sughrue, Jr., MD, I set up a scholarship fund through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT). 100% of the tax-deductible contributions will go to fund an annual scholarship of $1000 for a medical or nursing student to receive sexuality education and training by attending the AASECT annual conference.

The scholarship is open to both US and international students. Applications for the June 2012 conference in Austin, TX are being accepted. Deadline is March 6, 2012.

To apply: Email a letter of application stating your interest in the sexuality field and how you plan to apply the education and training to your medical or nursing practice. Include a current curriculum vitae (CV)/resume. Scholarship is open only to medical and nursing students.
