Description: The world of sexual pharmacology has a dizzying array of pills, patches, pellets and potions to make our sex life better. But is this true? What is the downside? What about the terminology used…compounding, natural, bio-identical, prescription and big pharma? What is the role of neurotransmitters, hormones, and side effects of prescribed medication? Do herbs and supplements really help? How do you know if your hormones are out of balance? Then what???
This workshop will:
- review the effects of neurotransmitters and hormones on sexual function
- review the effects of commonly prescribed medications, herbs and supplements on sexual function
- review alternative therapies to counter negative sexual side effects
- present cutting edge information on obtaining hormonal balance for optimal sexual health
- discuss saliva versus serum (blood) testing and how to interpret the results
- suggest ways to coordinate between medical and non-medical professionals to offer comprehensive sexual health care
